Me and My friend Brought 2 toshiba A305-S6898 laptops few days back. we both notice that the resolution of the Videos and Pics are not good. we have not changed any of the default settings for display.I noticed the poor resolution/diplaying quality on toshiba. When i compared vedio's (DIVX format & DVD's)and pics (above 7 mega pix.) with the Dell (display resolution 1280 x 800 ,Non HD,WXGA with Intel graphics media accelator card 945) i found that the Toshiba do not shows the actual quality of the vedio and pics. They found to be dull on toshiba.
Specifications of the toshiba are as below.

So i m about to return both the laptops as i m very much disappointed with the quality of video's and pics shown.
Before i do this i just want to know is there some thing that i can do to get the actual quality which i got on Dell? any driver updates or setting to be done in Laptop?? or any thing else..??

If you load a 1280x800 picture on both, how do they look. You can't compare a 7 Mega pixel picture as it will be dimensionally compressed to fit and depending on software differences it will look different.
Also for videos, codacs are important. Have you loaded all the same codecs, not just the divx one? What do you mean by dull? What does the exact same paused frame look like on both.
Any way, the screens should look very simular. One might be glossy or the other matte, which will be a personal preference, but they should be simular.
