And are you having any screen flicker/flashing issues?

Since updating my drivers, my screen will do a quick millisecond flicker/flash seemingly randomly when I move between apps, or use the scroll wheel on my mouse, when I move within PDF docs, etc. Interestingly, this NEVER happens when I play games, only in the Windows environment.

The issue goes away when I re-install very OLD Nvidia drivers, but I need the newer ones for some of my apps and games.

So I am curious if this is a common problem or if you had the problem and found a work-around or whatever.

I've noticed this problem too when I updated the display driver. Very weird. The factory installed ones (which are very outdated at this point) did not "flicker" while scrolling like new drivers do. I wish I knew of a workaround/fix, though.

I am having the same problem as well.  For the life of me, I cannot solve it wile using the new drivers.

I have the same problem X205-S9800. Tried Toshiba drive and nvidia's driver. No luck ( windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit )

Well, i need help with this issue badly, ive been a tester of windows 7 and have been having this problem for quite a while now, and no one seems to have a solution to this, ive talked to nvidia customer service and guess what, they told me to come to toshiba specifically because they are the ones with solutions to this, so i went for toshiba and guess what?, they told me to go to nvidia because they should have a solution to this, in the end my screen flickers every time i am in windows, half of my screen looks jagged every now and then saying my driver stopped working but "recovered" (which only made things worse) and no one in toshiba knows anything about this or is doing anthing to help us out, and if i use the default drivers, the flicker is gone but performance is affected badly.

So if ANYONE comes up with a solution to this, please elt us know! Thank you in advance!

Buy another toshiba with this kind of customer service? I think not.

You are probably *******.  I don't know anything about Nvidia's support, but you will not get any real help from Toshiba.  You are just wasting your time.  For my X205-S9800, with the GeForce 8700M GT, I was having problems (although not as bad as yours sound) until I went to the NVIDIA site and downloaded the latest drivers from them and said to heck with the software drivers from TOSHIBA...and amazingly... It's performing better then ever.

which driver from NVIDIA are you using with your 8700M GT?  I have the same graphics card for x205-9359 and I am using laptop2go drivers.  Flicker is gone, but I am getting occasional BSODs.

I am using the 179.48_notebook_winvista_win7_64bit_beta driver. So far I have had no problems at all. I would recommend that you give this driver a try. I found this driver on http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us

im running nvidia's 195.39 for laptops, and have the same BSOD issue now, haha, although my flickering still happens everytime my screen shuffles the background image every 3 minutes as i have it set.although i need to admit it is not as bad as before, thats why i haven't downgraded.

I too wonder when will some1 in toshiba or specially nvidia will do something about it....
