I installed windows 7 ultimate 64bit and updated all the drivers and my screen started flickering. I put it out of my mind then my screen went black. I rebooted the computer and disabled the video driver (NVIDIA 8700M GT). I don't get the flicker anymore but my screen saver wont work and I would bet my game wont work either. Does anyone know of a fix?
I had the same issues with the same card. I had to find older drivers (since every newer driver causes serious issues and crashing) and I'm now problem free. The ones are I use are Nvidia 7.15.11.7948, available at this link:
I tried going back to that driver but the computer tells me that it can not install it because I am running Windows 7. I have to be running Vista to upload that driver. I downloaded the lastest driver from Nvidia 186.81 and it causes the screen to flicker.
Weird, it worked for me. Anywho, go here: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us, fill in the required information (GeForce 8M Series, OS, etc.) and it should come back with a full list of compatible drivers. I use the 179 series, since the 185-6 series cause the screen flickering on me. Hope this helps.
