Hello Toshiba Support

I just purchased a Satellite L505 S5997 that came pre-install with Windows 7 premium and a bunch of other software applications that I really don't want. (Microsoft Office Home and Student, Norton Anti-Virus, and a lot of other Software Stuff that is to long to list here lol)

I know I can uninstall it from the add and remove programs from my Windows 7 operating system but there will always be some trace of the programs left behind in the registry.

My question is "Can I just reinstall Windows 7 premium and the Toshiba drivers only(audio,video,bios, ect) Only" ?

Yes, you can, but you'll need to buy a commercial version of Windows 7.  Toshiba only gave you the ability to restore an image of the hard drive as it came from the factory, complete with everything you want to get rid of.

I wouldn't be overly concerned with what may or may not be left in the registry after you remove the unwanted programs.

If I ever decide to upgrade Windows 7 premium, I can always do that.

The biggest problem will be getting rid of Norton.  That's the one who's uninstall process doesn't work like it's supposed to.  Download the Norton Removal Tool to get rid of that.  The other stuff won't leave enough stuff behind to worry about.
