I have a satellite p-2056337 tried to install either Windows Vista Ultimate or Windows 7 RTM as a clean install without any success.  I can install Windows XP with no problems just updating the drivers after the install is completed.  The installation starts with no issues once it goes to re-boot to "configure Windows for first time" the screen goes black.

1. I started with a formatted drive.
2. When I install a external monitor I can not get it to transfer the image with the function keys.

FYI,

Please review my blog about Upgrading vs Clean Install.  I had a new Vista64 Home Prem system configured just right and up-to-date. So a clean install did not seem to fit... Anyway read my blog and post a comment and I will respond if asked.

As for all my updates I had them ready on a DVD and the HDD just incase...
