Greetings to all,
It seems that I am not alone with my problem of loosing the function keys from the keyboard on my Satellite A205-S5000 after a Windows 7 upgrade. I have installed the Special Toshiba Utitlty.
Have I missed something or is there another driver I should install?
Thanks

Followup. After reinstalling all the drivers as suggested with no sucess I uninstalled the keyboard from the device manager and let Windows 7 Ultimite 32 bit reinstall it. After that the function keys started working.
Hope this helps other having the same problem!

Smart thinking.
If you don't bother to post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.

Did you try the trick above in this thread?
Open Device Manager, right-click the Keyboard device, click Uninstall, and reboot.

Thanks Jerry, but this is exactly what I do.....and no positive results, my Fn key still dead. Perhaps this a localized problem of 64 bit version.

There is a flash cards support utility that needs to be installed after installing the toshiba value added package for the Fn keys to work. Or don't install either and they should work as well.
I verified both options on my A215-S4757 with 7 64-bit. With the utilities installed though I had issues switching between monitors using the Fn key combination so I uninstalled the value added pacakge and flash cards support utility and all is working fine now....just don't have the flash cards now of course.
