Hi,
I am experiencing problems upgrading my Qosmio F55-Q502 laptop to Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit. I decided to upgrade Windows Vista to Windows 7 because I want to keep my existing programs and settings.
I am running Windows Vista Home Premium with SP2 (32bit) and have upgraded my bios to the latest version (2.20).
The upgrade goes smooth until the detection of hardware devices when at a certain point a loud sound comes from my laptop (from the internal speaker) and some fan inside the laptop seems to increase the speed. This situation continues but I cannot leave the installation finish because of the loud sound it produces. So I decided to turn it off and rollback to Windows Vista again.
I have tried the upgrade twice up to now and I have the same results.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks!

Did you download and follow the Upgrade Guide for your model found on the Product Support Link at the top of this page? That will tell you any special steps involved in upgrading from Vista to Se7en on your laptop. I would start there.
If you don't post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please try to post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.

Yes I did. I downloaded the Toshiba Windows 7 Upgrade Instructions. I have followed the instructions presented there and I have uninstalled any software that Toshiba recommends to do so. I have even scanned my laptop with the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor and have not found any problems.
In fact Toshiba recommends not to use the option of connecting to the internet during the upgrade process. I have followed its instructions. If I let the upgrade process connect to the internet during the upgrade, will it download automatically any new Windows 7 compatible drivers that might help the installation go smoothly?
