I have a M505 s4945 and I'm having trouble at step 6 (the components part) It says "CyberLink PowerCinema for Toshiba, the status is done. Under that it says Realtek Audio Driver, the status is NA. I went to toshibas drivers page and got the download because I was having problems (before it said failed under staus, now NA) what does this mean?

Im having a similar problem. I get to the step where it installs this program, but on mine it says failed. It goes through all other steps fine, then comes to this step and stops and never progresses any further.

I called Toshiba and they told me I had to do a clean install. After doing that I have lost my toshiba cinema thing as well as the Toshiba WWAN manager. I reinstalled the WWAN manager but now it says:
"A default profile could not be created because your Mobile Broadband (WWAN) device was not found.
Please ensure that your Mobile Broadband (WWAN) device is powered on and restart this application.
This application will exit now."
I called Toshiba after this and the gentleman did a remote login and couldn't fix after a great effort. Then he forwarded my problem on to a level 3 tech...who should be calling me within 24-48 hours.
Thinking now...wish I wouldn't have changed a thing! Time travel sounds nice at the moment!

UPDATE!!!
I fixed this issue by going to the support for my laptop NB205. On the 2nd page of drivers (did not know there was a second page). I found a driver for Sieria wirless Gobi 2000.. Once I installed this, all was fine.
Hope that helps

I called Toshiba again because I never received a call back...they then told me to call Verizon (that's who my internet is through) and Verizon couldn't figure it out, they told me to call Toshiba. So after getting the run around, and no one being able to fix it I just decided to go back to Vista till some kinks are worked out. I'm anxious to try W7..But I think I'll wait. My laptop is back to normal now-thank goodness!
I did go update drivers with the level 2 techs-and they couldn't find them either.
I have a Gobi card in bedded in my laptop with Verizon service.
If anyone knows up the correct update I would love to eventually switch to W7.

I had the same issue. After trying several things, what I did is forget about using the Toshiba "assistant." Browse the windows 7 cd, and run setup.exe from the win732 or win764 folder as appropriate. (I used win764.) The upgrade went smoothly from that point.
