Hello,
I've tried formatting my new Satellite about 10 times since I got it a couple of days ago so I could get rid of vista as my OS. I've tried booting from XP OS disks, which always results in a blue-screen error message that crashes the computer, and I've also tired booting from linux OS disks, which always results in a blank screen that goes nowhere. Neither will get to the point where I can delete the Vista partition, so basically I'm thinking that Microsoft is doing its best to keep its OS on the computer no matter what I try. Any ideas?
Thanks

I've tried booting from XP OS disks, which always results in a blue-screen error message..
It produces a STOP: 0x000007F because there is no SATA-controller driver in the Windows XP installation package. Google for the fix.
But Toshiba supplies no drivers or utilities for part-number family PSAL6x. So you're on your own.

Searching in foruns i found that this pc has some troubles to handle PCI. For linux Kernel lunch well you will need to pass pci=use_crs as boot option. Remenber to pass this for live boot as well to the boot loader you are using. I hope it`s usefull.
