Windows Vista & Windows XP

Hi Everyone, I'm going nuts.  I'm running two Toshiba Satellites and two Acers.  This must be a Toshiba problem because the Acers aren't doing it.

I upgraded to IE 8 and now sometimes I have to click a link 7 times to get the page to load.  Meanwhile I can't close any of the blank windows (the windows just remain blank and ACT like they are loading but they never do) because then I will never get an open page.  I just have to click, click, click, click sometimes twice, sometimes 4 times and sometimes as many as 7 times in order to get a webpage to load!  I uninstalled IE8 and reinstalled and it's doing the same thing.  I'm at the end of my rope.  I prefer it to IE7 for alot of reasons.  I haven't seen anyone have this exact problem so I'm hoping someone could PLEASE help me.

I'm sorry, I meant to mention I'm running Vista.  I don't know if that matters or not.

You'll probably have better luck posting this in one of the Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 forums as they have probably run into it before and are geared more towards that sort of problem.  I can assure you that it isn't a Toshiba Problem, it's a Microsoft problem.

Well I will do that, but in the meantime if someone has ideas on how to fix this issue I would appreciate it.  I don't care who's problem it is, I just want it fixed and any help would be appreciated.

Hi again, Jerry.  I did what you said.  So far (though it's only been a few hours) it's improved a great deal but once or twice I've had to open a second tab or window to get the page to load.  But it's only been maybe one extra window.  Instead of sometimes 7 to 9 windows.  So it's an improvement thank heavens.  Any other ideas you think I should try?  We seem to be on the right track.

One person on the MS site answered me but I can't begin to make heads or tails out of what they said.  They used all this computer jargin I totally don't understand.

If it occurs often enough, we can make some experiment.

Hi Jerry.  Grant it it's not quite as bad, but it's back to doing it more than once or twice this morning.  I haven't changed anything, just did what you said and have been using the computer the same as I always do.  No toolbars, nothing.  Any ideas?
