@Christa,

Does the problem follow when you use either your wireless or LAN connection RJ45 but not both at the same at the same time.  Meaning, if you are running from the Wireless have your tried shutting off the wireless and running from a wired LAN connection.

Sometimes I get websites that just do not work well in IE which is a development issue on the site end... I therefore, have installed Apple Safari as an alternative browser... Please advise if you have done this as well.

Please make sure all MS and Toshiba Updates have been applied.  Please download and audit your system with the software at this site  Belarc Advisor - Free Personal PC Audit  which will show you all your MS and Toshiba updates.  Hopefully something may pop up.

Lastly, what does your event system/application  logs show when this problem is occurring?  Is there an entry at all?

I concurr, it might be interesting to know what sites the user is attempting to access that are causing the problem.  Hopefully she will submit them here so we can see what is going on..

Nope, sorry.  That WOULD have been an easier solution.  While I tend to go to the same sites every day (checking mail, hanging out on FB, etc) this seems to happen randomly with any given site.  Some I click on from another page, some I open from email, some I type in manually.  It would take me many moons to get you a list of all the sites that have done this seeing as it seems to be so random.

Christa, how long would you need to run in order to discover whether it's fixed?

I have in mind some experiments. But you wouldn't want to make them if you needed to run that way for a long time.

Hi Jerry.  Do you mean how often does it happen?  Or do you mean how often do I use the computer?  I use it constantly as my business revolves around it.  As for how often does it happen... we'll let's put it this way, the second I sit down at my computer and open gmail, it happens.  Within about 30 minutes I'm cursing a blue streak.  LOL!  That make sense?  I'm not sure this is what you are asking.  I'm willing to experiment as long as the directions are put VERY simply.  I am very easily confused with things like this.  And I prefer not to lose any data along the way as well.

@Jerry,

Would it be a helpf if we isolated Gmail off the Internet browser into Outlook ?

That way we can start isolating sites that are happeing right quicker ..

If this is an option here is a site that tell how to use Gmial via Outlook.

I can't do that.  I have one account going into Windows Mail (There is no Outlook in Vista) and I have my business account through IE.

Christa, I'd like to know whether it happens in the following situations.

1. Does the problem occur when you boot into Safe Mode with Networking? See Advanced startup options (including safe mode).

2. Does the problem occur when you boot normally into another user account? If necessary, create one.

Well, then I guess you do not have MS office 2003 or 2007 installed on your system?

@jerry, what is the possibility that she has an adware add-in that is doing this.. It seems quite familiar to one I had last year and it destroyed my use of IE 7.....  This is just me guessing about her problem !
