Windows won't boot-battery failure? How can I make it up n running & keep my files?

Hi guys,

Need your help.  My satellite was running on battery with bad battery sensor. We can only use it on battery for about 20 mins then it reminds us to charge, which we usually do.  But this time around my husband did not charge it after the reminder, but it can still go on for a long time... but then the critical battery notice come up.. and I guess he continued using the laptop until the battery went dead.

After that, he plug the power to the laptop and tried to work on it, but we got a black screen saying:

"We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this."

We tried all the modes offered to start the windows, safe mode, normal mode, you name it... ALL the modes - but still not successful.  It keeps coming back to the apologize screen.  I have my recovery disk with me by the way.  My question is: How can I get my laptop up and running again and KEEP ALL MY FILES?  I want to save my musics, pictures and everything I have saved on My Documents

I am afraid to run the recovery disk since it will put the computer back to the out of box state. I don't want to loose the files.

If I can get the laptop runs again and keep all my files but lost the battery that would not be a problem to me.  I really don't care about the battery.. I don't mind using the laptop on AC power.  Don't really need to run it on the battery power.

Greatly appreciate any help.  I'm not computer savvy.  If this can be fixed fairly simple, I will try... but if it's too complicated.. May be I need to bring it to Geek Squad?

Thanks.

Satellite M105-S3004

To learn more, use F8 to reach the Advanced Options menu. You should find an additional option there: Disable automatic restart on system failure.

Select that one and report the Stop error and any file name mentioned on the blue screen.
