Allright I just got my Laptop back from Nexicore in California. And they said its all fixed fine and dandy so we're good to go right? wrong after uninstalling Norton I decide to go ahead and run a sfc/scannow and my old friends those corrupt files are back interesting isnt it how you can erase your windows partition send it in to get fixed and get it back with corrupt files of course Nexicore cant understand what the problem is their quality control person checked my laptop before they shipped it back to me and so far the only thing Toshiba has come up with is sending it back to the incompetent people who couldnt do their job right the first time so I ordered a set of the recovery discs from Toshiba and decided to use them to reinstall the OS after it finishes installing all the drivers and reboots go directly to the command prompt and run anouther sfc/scannow and what do I find more corrupt files now ive owned several Toshiba Satellites over the years and to be honest untill now Ive always considered them to be one of the best in the business never had a 1 single problem with them before this paper wait I even ran World of Warcraft on a Satellite Pro M6100 with 512 mb of ram over a dial up connection so why is it that a company that for so long produced such good quality computers seems to be still in business selling such crap. so any votes on what to do right now im torn between boat anchor or target practise I mean its ridiculous this things only like 2 months old and its worthless I currently have a HP Pavilion ZE1210 no upgrades all original running XP 256 mb of ram that can load pages and programs faster than this piece of junk and it has 2 gb of Ram and a dual core processor somebody give me a logical believable excuse for this problem even if you have to lie to me before my head explodes out of sheer rage

Did you go into Add and Remove Programs to uninstall Norton or did you use the Norton Removal Tool? Uninstalling anything Norton makes a complete mess of ones system. Only the Norton Removal Tool will get rid of Norton properly so it doesn't cause problems.

Ive tried it both ways and since using the Toshiba Recovery Discs they sent me I havent tried to uninstall or install anything. After all whats the point if Im going to have to send it in again for anouther month or use it for a paper weight anyway. Oh and did you guys know that Paul a supposed level 2 Senior Tech for Toshiba had no clue until today what sfc/scannow was he seriously thought it was a third party program and directed me to a microsoft support document that doesnt even apply to my version of windows to find my solution.

wow this just gets better and better now im being told that I have to go to microsoft for support with my issue because Toshiba Tech support is not trained to handle software problems of course for one reason or anouther the microsoft website cant recognise my installation of vista and therefore because Toshiba is using a corrupt version of the OS Microsoft wants to charge me $ 50 just to talk to me how ridiculous is this. They could at least give you some vaselene before they screw ya.

That isn't correct. When Toshiba (or any other Computer Manufacturer) sells a system with Windows installed they are responsible for providing the support for it. That's why it's called an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) License, not a retail license. It might be time to talk to someone else at Toshiba about the problem.

You know I kinda thought that myself. And I left a message for Betty to call me back, but If Im not getting called back and my problem isnt being resolved then where does that leave me? Im going to end up calling the Better Business Bureau. And anyone else that I or my friends and family can think of to call, but at the end of the day my brand new computer still has a corrupt OS and isnt working properly and it still isnt fixed or being fixed. And im still out of pocket for the money to buy a computer.

2. Type the following command, and then press ENTER:
findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log >sfcdetails.txt
this command doesnt work ive allready been to that page on microsofts support site and when I tried using it that command gets me nothing as for restoring it I have tried restoring it numerous times using the Toshiba Recovery Wizard and it didnt work thats why it got sent to NexiCore in California. I also tried using a set of the Restore discs from Toshiba and I still have the same problems thats why I am so pissed off the problem is obviously not in the hardware It has to be in the software yet for some reason I cant get any sort of quality or worthwhile support from Toshiba they arent returning my calls at this point Im getting frustrated enough to just scrap it and downgrade to XP but before I do that any other ideas on how to fix it?
